These Terms govern your access to and use of the AutoCars website and related services (the “Services”). By using our Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

1. Scope & Definitions

“AutoCars”, “we”, “our” or “us” refers to the operator of this website. “You” or “your” means the person using the Services. “Dealership” refers to AutoCars and/or trusted partner dealers who list vehicles on our platform.

The Services include browsing vehicle listings, submitting enquiries, booking test drives, placing refundable reservation deposits (where applicable), and using tools such as wishlists or finance calculators.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 and have legal capacity to enter a binding agreement in South Africa.
  • Account holders are responsible for keeping login credentials secure and for all activity under the account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable laws.

3. Vehicle Listings & Accuracy

We strive to present accurate information (model, year, mileage, condition, features and pricing). However, specifications, availability and pricing are subject to change without notice. Images may include optional extras or differ slightly from the actual vehicle. Always confirm details with us before you make a decision.

4. Pricing, Fees & Finance

  • Prices are shown in ZAR and may exclude government fees, on-the-road costs, licensing and optional products.
  • Quoted finance rates are indicative and subject to bank approval, credit checks and final documentation.
  • We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and cancel orders arising from such errors.

5. Reservations, Deposits & Test Drives

  • Reservation deposits may be offered to hold a vehicle for a limited period. Terms will be presented at checkout.
  • Deposits are typically refundable prior to final paperwork; after signing, standard cancellation rules apply.
  • Bring a valid driver’s licence for test drives. We may refuse a test drive at our discretion.

6. Delivery, Registration & Ownership

Delivery/collection dates are estimates. Ownership transfers upon full payment, completion of required documents, and vehicle handover. Title may be retained by a finance provider until the agreement is settled.

7. Warranties, Inspections & “As-Is”

New vehicles carry manufacturer warranties per their terms. Pre-owned vehicles may include limited warranties or be sold “as-is” unless otherwise stated. You are encouraged to inspect and/or request a condition report before purchase. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties not expressly provided in writing.

8. Acceptable Use

  • No scraping, automated data harvesting or interfering with site security.
  • No unlawful, defamatory, infringing or misleading submissions or reviews.
  • No attempts to bypass access controls or manipulate pricing or availability.

9. Intellectual Property

All content (logos, text, graphics, software and layout) is owned by AutoCars or its licensors and protected by law. You may not reproduce or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

10. Third-Party Services & Links

Our Services may link to third-party sites, finance tools or analytics platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or practices. Use them at your own discretion and review their terms.

11. Limitation of Liability & Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoCars is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of profits, data or goodwill arising from your use of the Services. You agree to indemnify and hold AutoCars harmless from claims related to your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Services.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts located in your province of residence or our principal place of business.

13. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
